Rin - Tin - Tin

A couple of weeks ago, I popped into Marks & Spencer while I was at a motorway services.  There I found an adorable biscuit tin - a sweet double decker bus with an array of passengers at the windows. The illustrations are reminiscent of M. Sasek

Don't know what it is about M & S and their biscuit tins but they seem to consider their choices carefully.

I've been meaning to mention that I got a couple of last year's edition of Sanna Annukka designed tins (complete with biscuits of course).  I was quite disappointed to miss out on the ones released the year before so was pleased to pick these two up in December last year.

I really like this detail on the side.
I must admit, they were all a bit pricey for a tin of biccies (no matter how nice they were) but the fact I can keep the tins for years evens it out a bit for me.

  1. What great tins! I love the artwork on all three. The bus reminds me of a tea tin that I had for years...wonder what I did with it??

  6. I love those tins, the double-decker bus is a wonderful addition to your collection!

P.S. I had heard that "kelly" green was named for Grace Kelly - actress/princess of Monaco, as she made the color famous. However, quick googling for the history found sources that show that the origin is most likely Irish - this particular green being a popular color in Ireland, and the surname Kelly being quite common in Ireland. However, it does appear that Americans are more familiar with the term than others worldwide, so it probably did originate in the U.S.

  7. Great tins! I used to collect vintage advertising tins (food items), but got rid of my collection some years ago.
