Komai Chameleon
There's something about this fabric design by Ray Komai (c.1948) that makes me so happy.
My scanner has an issue with scanning colours for some reason and on my first try, the brown came out blue. This showed me that I really like it in blue too. It would probably translate well in every colour, don't ya think?

It kind of reminds me of a piece Ebbo is in the middle of right now. It's quite a project (about 90 x 105cm) and will probably take some to finish. I can't wait!
That's a great design, and I think you're right that it would look good in just about any color...except maybe hot pink. :) I look forward to seeing Ebbo's new piece.
ReplyDeleteHow simple it would be to paint that same design on a large canvas for your flat wall. :)
ReplyDeleteVery cool in both blue and the brown. I think it would look nice in green or or red maybe. What will you do with it? Might make cute pillows.

Dana - I might post some sneak peeks of the new piece 'in progress'.
ReplyDelete1950s - You've got me thinking...
Ally - It would make cute pillows but I don't actually own the fabric. I scanned it from the 'Tiki Modern'. I'd love to have the fabric - in any colour!
That pattern IS pretty tiki-rific!
ReplyDeleteBut what I'm more interested in is Ebbo's big piece. Oh, wait. That doesn't sound quite right, does it? Well, you KNOW what I mean! Get yer mind outta the gutter!
You must take some pics of Ebbo's piece (ahem.) and share them. Plenty of us would like to see it!
Very cool!! I'd dig these as drapes!!!
