This 1959 illustration is brilliant. If the flying saucer on the driveway isn't swish enough, get a load of the house! I would so love to live there or even the neighbour's lake house on the right will do. :)
Where-o-where did you find this? Oh, duh, now I see, it's from Flickr. I'm off to mark it as a fave so I can print it out some day! P.S. - there are plenty of houses that look similar right here in So Cal!
I really like this image. Over the past few years I have run across it here and there. I really like the fact that it shows the saucer in the drive way. I am really inspired by all things MCM, but nothing inspires me more than the British MOD and Retro Futurism. It's funny because I just posted about retro futurism on my blog. There is also a link another blog with tons of illustrations.
P.S. I like your title bar. Do you create it in Photoshop or Illustrator?

Tikimama - stop making me jealous! There certainly aren't any like that around here - not that I've seen anyway.
ReplyDeleteJEM - I've just commented on your blog - great links you got there! As for the title bar, thankyou! :) I created it in illustrator.
This illustration is fantastic! I wish my ranch home was half as fabulous as the ones in this neighborhood!
ReplyDeleteLove the blog. Thanks for posting a link back to my site!
