1st Blogoversary/200th Post!

On the 15th of February last year, MoonDoggie (the blog) was born. (You can read about my initial tentative steps on my first ever post here).
Since I was away at the time, I forgot all about it. When I realised, I figured the moment had passed. Then I noticed that my last post was my 200th so have especially crafted this post to celebrate that (AND my belated blogoversary). Hooray!
As part of the festivities, I will be serving this delightful luncheon centrepiece from the 1967 Better Homes and Gardens Meat Cookbook. Yes, those really are olive and pepperoni roses. Thankyou so much for coming. Take a slice of meat... no, take two.

Happy blogoversary! The meat tree rocks! I love those weird 60's concocted food displays. This one is the oddest/greatest one I've ever seen (although I would totally eat one of those pepperoni & olive roses).
ReplyDeletecongrats! you can keep your meat, it might be even better next year...
ReplyDeleteYaaay, GOOD doggie!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your 200th post!
And HAPPY BLOGOVERSARY!
My one year blogoversary is also coming up in April, however I don't have anywhere near 200 posts under MY belt (I really need to work on posting with more frequency...).
Btw, I'm sorry to be an ungrateful party guest, yet I must say it looks like there's something seriously WRONG about those olive & pepperoni roses! I can't quite put my finger on it (nor would I want to), but somehow I just know they're NOT at all right. (((Yuck!)))
Keep up the FUN, Moondoggie, and keep on bloggin' on!
Congrats and OHMYGOD what a photo!
ReplyDeleteOh the glamour of a 60s buffet!!! I was born in 73 and have vague recollections of such masterpieces at Christenings etc I was dragged to as a kid!
