King of the Brady Jungle
Before I delve too much further into season 3 of The Brady Bunch, I wanted to share something that has intrigued me in season 2.In 'The Liberation of Marcia Brady', something on the television captured my attention. No, it wasn't the delightful Marcia espousing her views on women's lib, it was the yellow 'object' ON the television set.
What is it?
It seems to be made of metal, or even painted pottery. It looks like it could be one of those retro money banks. Here it is from a couple of different angles:
I have become obsessed and need to find this thing (or at least a picture of it).
I've not been able to find a picture of its face but imagine it looks a little something like the lion in the 'Owl & Lion' logo;
but if you look again at the first picture, there doesn't appear to be any detail on the facial area (except for what looks like the beginning of a moulded nose perhaps?).
If you have any ideas or know what this object is, please share with me.
Ooo a mystery! Interesting! I will be checking back to see if anyone else can figure this out.
ReplyDeleteI too often check the set design very carefully in movies and such for details. I like that you do it too. =)
Like life, it's a mystery.
ReplyDeleteYou know, for some odd reason that object rings a bell somewhere deep within my memory banks. I can't quite place it, though. Very frustrating, but my brain will continue searching through its files and I will inform you of any results!
ReplyDeleteI also want to sincerely THANK YOU(!) for the glowing 5-Star review that you wrote about 'Pop Circus', on BlogCatalog's site. You really didn't have to do that, but I'm quite pleased you did! :)
Keep on, keep on, keep on groovin'!
1950s - sometimes I ignore what's going on in old movies and shows just to take in all the glorious details.
ReplyDeleteRed - Hopefully this is a mystery that can be solved. I really want to take a peek at the face!
Anthony - I know what you mean. I feel like I've seen it somewhere before too.
No need to thank me - I love your blog and suggest everyone takes a look at http://pop-circus.blogspot.com/
I've no idea what it is, but I like it a lot (perhaps in part because of my current obsession with all things yellow). I know it's pre-Jonathan Adler, but it reminds me of his pieces.
ReplyDeleteI think in later years it ends up in the girls room. In the pilot I am convinced it was in Mike Bradys kitchen when he and the boys are eating breakfast.
