Something Fishy In Scandinavia

New House Textiles have a range of homewares using this herring print from the 1950s.

I like the simplicity of this design and so tried to find more about the designer, Marianne Nilsson. All I have managed to find so far is another tea towel on flickr and another design of hers called Swedish Pastries (seen below). If anyone else knows anything about this designer, please let me know.

  1. These are cool! It's funny too that you mentioned Scandinavia because this weekend we stayed with some Swedish friends in another city here in Chile, and now we are learning Swedish. You know... because Swedish is such an important language and all in Chile.

Try this link - it was all I could find in a Google search! A tiny mention in a book called Twentieth-century Pattern Design.
