A Twist of Orange
I happened to watch 'The Holiday' over Christmas and besides some other mid century style spotted here and there, I kept catching fleeting glimpses of an orange movie poster in Cameron Diaz's character's home. I really liked the look of it and became distracted trying to see what it was. The movie was Alfred Hitchcock's 'Vertigo'.
To me, this poster oozes cool mid century graphic design and it's orange! Orange has been a favourite colour of mine for some time but I've been even more drawn to it lately.
Here is how the poster is seen in the movie (top right corner):
It seems to be available in different shades of orange but I think I would be happy with any . I would use a chunky white frame like the RIBBA frame from ikea to match the one I used for my woodstock poster.
I used the Eframe site to see how it would look:
I think a purchase is on the cards...
That is one of my all-time favourite movie posters! I should buy a print of it too! :D
ReplyDeleteVery cool poster (I'm a huge fan of orange too), and thanks for the link to eframe, it will prove to be a very useful tool!
ReplyDeleteI've got one of these in a frame and it's more red than orange really, got it in Urban Outfitters but it was about a year ago...
